O mikros Paradeisos

Our Programme

Let us explain our programme:

Our educational approach focuses on the holistic development of each child, taking into consideration their emotional, mental, physical, and social growth. We give priority to emotional development, as it is a prerequisite for effective learning. All serious research shows that when children feel safe and accepted in their environment, they:

  • Adjust, communicate, and are willing to try new things more easily

  • Become autonomous more quickly

  • Express and manage difficulties arising from their first social interactions more gently

  • Learn to take responsibility for their decisions and their behaviour within the school community, preparing them for the world ahead

Our Principles

  • Self-respect and respect for others

  • Politeness

  • A positive and optimistic attitude

Through our programme we encourage children to:

  • Enjoy learning

  • Explore their surroundings with confidence and curiosity; we welcome their questions, as they help them understand the world around them

  • Develop inquisitive minds by providing a rich and stimulating educational environment

  • Try to solve problems independently, in order to build self-confidence

  • Make choices and cultivate a positive attitude towards learning

  • Work as part of a team and support each other

  • Become familiar with gymnastics, music, and theatre

We aim to help children acquire:

  • A strong sense of identity

  • A strong sense of wellbeing

  • Connections with their world and respect for it

  • Confidence and involvement in their learning

  • Effective communication skills

Essential School Information

What Parents Need to Know

  • The school’s opening hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After 5:00 p.m., a babysitting service is available upon request, at an additional cost.

  • It is necessary to bring your child’s health booklet during the first days of attendance so that their personal record can be properly updated regarding vaccinations.

  • We offer breakfast and lunch prepared with organic ingredients and carefully selected raw materials to ensure a healthy diet for all children in our care. We do not use sugar or salt.

  • Please remember to inform us about any allergies or intolerances your child may have, as well as any foods they can or cannot eat according to your pediatrician’s guidance.

For the afternoon snack, please note the following:

  • Nuts: Due to choking and allergy risks, nuts are not allowed.

  • Grapes / Cherry tomatoes / Fruits with pits: These pose a choking hazard and must be cut into small pieces, with pits removed.

  • Chips / Chocolate / Cake / Croissants: Please do not send these items. They are considered unhealthy and do not support the development of healthy eating habits. Thank you 😊

Contacting the Teachers:

  • During the first period, you may call as often as you feel the need. Even if the teachers are busy, we will be able to relay your message or let you know how your child is doing. This allows communication without interrupting the daily program.
If you need to speak with the teachers personally about any concerns, the best time is between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

  • On our school blog, www.omikrosparadeisos.gr, you can find updates on everything happening or upcoming—for example, information about viruses, the pediatrician’s visit, the weekly menu, etc.

  • Parents are required to keep their child at home when they have a high fever or symptoms of staph infection or common childhood illnesses (e.g., measles, scarlet fever, chickenpox). This is to protect the rest of the children, who are a vulnerable group. The child may return 24 hours after fever has resolved and at least 24 hours after the last dose of antipyretic medication.

  • If lice appear, parents must take the necessary measures before bringing the child back to school, in order to prevent further spread.
